A Proverbs Woman
A Proverbs Woman. If you haven't read Proverbs 31:10-31, then let me give you a piece of advice..."READ IT!"
A Proverbs Woman is a woman that is perfect in every way. A woman we should model our behaviors after. Verses 25-26 reads, Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
I find it interesting that strength and honour are used to describe her clothing in this verse. I wish I could say that I have always dressed myself with strength and honour. Instead.. my morning routines went something like this:
Wake Up. Shower. Spend 30mins-1hr trying to figure out what to wear. Looking for something that was flattering but comfortable. Something that would hide my insecurities and accentuate my assets. Great. Found the perfect outfit, but now struggling with the lack of shoe options. (Thinking to myself, I need to buy more shoes) Outfit is done. I move back to the bathroom to prepare my face for the day. Trying to create the perfect eyebrows, (which could take HOURS! if you don't know what you are doing), attempting to line my eyes with the color blue (Got the idea from a Youtube video that blue eyeliner pairs nicely with brown eyes), I then proceed to apply blush that does not match my pigmentation, and then a lip color that doesn't really do anything but make my face FEEL complete. Ok. All Done! I look nice... oh but wait.. my hair.. More time goes into my hair...
The point is that l, amongst millions of other women spend hours investing in our outward appearance everyday. But how much time do we spend investing in our innerselves?
Do we as women today, wake up in the morning to dress ourselves in things of character? Do we put on our strength to fight off negativity? Do we put on love to give to those who hate us? Do we paint our face with respect to guard of us of those who are disrespectful? Do we cleanse our mouth from dirty words and lies? The list could go on..
How can we spend so much time getting ready for the day and still not feel good enough, not loved, insecure, self-conscious, or have a bad day, etc? The Answer: It is because we do not have morning routines or spend an EQUAL amount of time on our inner woman. The woman no one sees. The woman WE FEEL every single day.
Don't get me wrong, A Proverbs Woman is well kept and dresses nicely, but what makes her stand out amongst millions is her love for her family, intelligence and work ethic, and most importantly her character - her inner woman.
I challenge women, both young and old, to remember there is another part of you as woman that must be dressed each day. How you dress her will have a huge impact on your day to day life, attitude, relationships, and success.
